Answer

Dear Harry,

We are doing charpy impact in PP. We had an accident before few days while cutting the specimen for charpy. We are using the paper cutter to cut the speciment for charpy. The person cut his finger while cutting specimen. Do you know the plastic specimen cutter ? It should be safe one.

regards,

Dear Pavan:

Thanks you for your question.  Technically, you should be injection molding your specimens and notching them on a machine especially designed to cut the notch in the specimen.  You will never be able to make a consistent notch using hand tools.  You may want to contact you local Tinius Olsen representative.  You can find them by going to www.TiniusOlsen.com.
